Raman spectrum of liquid ammonia has been photographed at room temperature, using a glass spectrograph, obtaining the following results ; 1031 (0), 1077 (0), 1624 (0, broad), 3212 (2), 3303 (3), and 3384 (1) cm^<-1>. Using the observed values and assuming the valence force type field to the potential energy, the force constants of liquid ammonia were obtained and compared with those of gaseous ammonia. The force constant of the stretching vibration of liquid ammonia is smaller than that of gaseous ammonia, while the force constant of the bending vibration of liquid ammonia is larger than that of gaseous ammonia. The facts are qualitatively explained by the assumption that the hydrogen bond is formed in liquid ammonia.
