Effects of light exposure on the fresh cleavage plane of the KCl single crystal containing only F centres were examined with the electron microscope by means of replica technique. The electronmicroscopic observation indicates that the light exposed surface shows interesting changes. The mechanism by which they are induced was discussed briefly in this paper.
