• The process is described of the preparation of alkyl phosphorothionates ((RO)_2P (S) HI), by which alkyl phosphonates ((RO)_2P(O)H II) is treated with phosphorus pentasulfide. O, O-Dialkyl phosphorochloridothioate ((RO)_2P(S)Cl III) is given when the compound (I) is treated with chlorine, and O, O-dialkyl phosphorosodiodithioate ((RO)_2P(S)SNa IV) is obtained by adding sulfur to the sodium salt of (I). Nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of methyl phosphorothonate shows' that the compound has the formula of (CH_3O)_2P(S)H.
