Nitroso R salt reacts with ferrous iron to produce four types of complexes. The compositions of the three of them have been studied spectrophotometrically by molar ratio method. The dissociation constant of the stable type S complex of 1 : 3 and that of nitroso R salt have been evaluated. The dissociation constant of the former is 1.0_6×10^<-23> at 25℃. This is somewhat smaller than the dissociation constant, 5×10^<-22> (25℃), of ferrous-1, 10-phenan-throline complex. The acid dissociation constant of nitroso R salt is 7.3×10^<-8> at 25℃.
