When ferrous iron was allowed to react with nitroso R salt, 3 types of complex were formed. They were FeR_2, and type L and type S complexes. The complex FeR_2 reacted with the reagent which was present in excess to form type L complex and the latter changed spontaneously into type S complex. Each of them exhibited characteristic absorption. Consequently, spectral absorbancy curve of the composite solution showed complicated changes with lapse of time.
