The permeation through and sorption of water vapor by the Japanese Lacquer film (Urushi) is investigated. The permeability value is found to be the same order as that of rubber. The adsorption relations are discussed by Freundlich's and Huttig's equations. The apparatus employed for permeation experiment is newly designed, and can be used for other samples of very low permeability.
