The distribution of temperature in the neighbourhood of a heated cylinder was observed quantitatively by the Michelson Interferometer and when the half part of the curved surface of cylinder was coated with the soot how to change of the temperature gradient in the neighbourhood of the heated cylinder was observed at various temperatures.
