A total of 138 macrolichen taxa representing 44 genera were collected during fieldwork on the Cheju Island, Republic of Korea in 2001. Lichen rich habitats were found on exposed lava rocks and rocky outcrops in the lowland, in subtropical forests in the lowland, on trees along roads and trees surrounding temples, in broad-leaved deciduous forests on Mt. Halla, subalpine Abies koreana forests on Mt. Halla and in the open summit area of Mt. Halla. Bryoria bicolor, Collema furfuraceum var. luzonense, C. peregrinum, Flakea papillata, Heterodermia comosa, H. subascendens, Hyperphyscia crocata, Pannaria insularis, Peltigera rufescens, P. venosa, Phaeophyscia confusa, P. spinellosa, P. squarrosa, Ramalina litoralis and Sticta wrightii are reported as new to Korea.
