This is the final part of a comparative morphology of the Staphylinidae and the allied groups. The abdominal glands, male genitalia and female spermatheca are discussed. Three kinds of glands are developed in the abdomen, 1) the defense gland, 2) the gland on the 1st tergum and 3) the appeasement and adoption gland. The function has not been studied for the 2nd gland. The male genitalia are composed of basal piece, median lobe and a pair of parameres. The basal piece is found in the Catopiaria, Silphidae, Micropeplus and Pseudopsis. The median lobe is slender in the Catopiaria and Silphidae, and it is usually composed of bulbous basal and slender apical parts in Staphylinida. The latter part is reduced in various lineages, but the reduction is always correlated with development of the armatures of the internal sac of the median lobe. The parameres are usually stalked, but are laminate in the Aleocharinae and some Oxytelinae. They are fused or lost in various lineages. The female spermatheca is usually membranous, but is strongly sclerotized in various groups.
