Plasma light is measured simultaneously with Thomson scattering. The absolute number of photons emitted from JFT-2M plasma is estimated experimentally. The profiles measured from both single-null divertor plasma and limiter plasma are discussed. The photons emitted from divertor plasma are more numerous than those from core plasma. Both a steepened gradient of plasma light in the outside throat of divertor H-mode phase and a decrease of plasma light intensity in the limiter H-mode phase are observed firstly.
