Substitution of alkaline-earth elements with other metallic elements was attempted in Ca_<1-x>Sr_xCuO_2 Of the fourteen elements examined (counting vacancy also as one), only Nd successfully replaced Ca and Sr to a small amount at x=0.7. Defect-type perovskite Nd_<0.05>(Ca_<0.3>Sr_<0.7>)_<0.95>CuO_y was synthesized at 6 GPa and 920℃ as a single phase. This material was semiconducting and did not show superconductivity.
