The Radial Distribution Function of a Tb_<21>Fe_<79> Amorphous Film

The infer-atomic distances and the coordination number of a Tb_<21>Fe_<79> amorphous film were obtained by a X-ray radial distribution function analysis. The nearest-neighbor distances are close to the sum of the metallic radii. The local structure is nearly the same as that of Gd_<18>Co_<82> in spite of the differences in constitutional elements; also, the Fe-Fe coordination number depends upon the composition. These observations support the binary Dense Random Packing of Hard-Spheres model.
