Higher harmonic radiations generated in a microwave gas discharge were experimentally investigated, using a 5.5 millimeter continuous wave of about 5W as a power source. The effects of configuration of electrode, the gas pressure and the tip diameter of the electrode upon the higher harmonic powers were measured. The conversion efficiencies attained were 27.6db in the second harmonic wave and 38.0db in the third harmonic wave respectively.
