Extension of the Two-Step Reaction Model for Thermoluminescent Response

Supralinear response is observed for thermoluminescence (TL) of several X-irradiated alkali halides such as KCl and KBr containing about 100 ppm of Sr^<2+> ions and Cu^+ ions less than 10 ppm. It is shown that the simple equation previously proposed to describe the TL response of LiF TLD-100 can also account for the TL process of the other alkali halides. The transition probability (α) appearing in the equation is found to be related to the absorbed dose for saturation (D_s) as αD_s=const.
