Correlation between the 28- and the 119-μm Line and Pressure Effect for the 119-μm Line in α CW H_2O Laser

A new type of correlation between the 28- and the 119-μm line is observed through the change in the shape of Lamb dip for the 119-μm line of H_2O Baser. It may be explained that when both lines are oscillating simultaneously the 28-μm line depopulates the upper level of the 119-μm transition through the collision-induced transition. In accordance with the Gyorffy, Borenstein and Lamb theory which considers the pressure effect, the radiative decay constant γ_<ab> and the pressure coefficient for the 119-μm line are estimated to be 0.61 MHz and 5.0 MHz/Torr, respectively.
