The author presented previously the computation results of the steady flows around a highly skewed propeller in uniform flows for the sake of the design rationalization of a low noise propeller. In actuality, the propellers are revolved in a non-uniform flow such as a stern wake. It is important to evaluate the performance of a low noise propeller in such a non-uniform flow. Nevertheless, it is difficult to establish the unsteady flow analysis taken account of viscosity reasonably. This paper describes the computation of unsteady viscous marine propellers using the function of the sliding mesh and the validation of availability and limitation of the computation by comparing with the measured data.
