The nonlinear simulation on the slab η_i mode and the current diffusive interchange mode are performed by using the nonlinear initial-value code to look for a simple but relevant simulation model for both instabilities. The different impacts of the ion nonlinearity and electron nonlinearity are found in these simulations. It is demonstrated that 2 dimensional simulation of the slab η_i mode turbulence, which does not include the background profile modification, gives a good agreement with 3 dimensional simulation. For the current diffusive interchange mode turbulence, much stronger normal cascade is observed in comparison with the slab η_i mode. Based on the numerical convergence study, we confirm that the normal cascade plays the role of the effective dissipation for instability. These tests provide the basis for the future study of turbulence under more realistic conditions.
