A major conjugate of 1-aminocyclopropanecarboxylic acid in germinating cocklebur (Xanthium pennsylvanicum Wallr.) seeds was isolated and identified as 1-malonylamino-cyclopropanecarboxylic acid (MACC). The change in MACC content during the germination period of this seed also was examined.
