Dark accumulation of chlorophyll was demonstrated in callus cells of Nicotiana glutinosa. The chlorophyll content of dark-grown callus cells was dependent on the agar concentration in the culture medium: the content was significantly higher at lower concentrations of agar. Some properties of the dark-formed chlorophyll are described.
