Zur Darstellung des 6-Methoxy-3,4-dihydronaphthalins (IV) wurde die Bamford'sche Reaktion angewandt und deren Vorzuge nachgewiesen. Zur Synthese des 6-Methoxy-3,4-dihydro-2 (1H)-naphthalinons (VII) aus (IV) wurde eine Methode, die zwar ursprunglich von Salzer stammte, aber wesentlich verbessert wurde, festgestellt.
