The variation of ovariole number in Pseudodera xanthospila BALY (Chrysomelidae, Alticinae) is analyzed statistically. In this species, the total ovariole number averages 105, ranging from 30 to 220. The considerable variation in ovariole number of this species must be exclusively resulted from their body size variation. The correlation coefficient between the hind wing length (X_1) as an index of body size and the total ovariole number (Y_1) is 0.9681 and the regression function of them is Y_1=3.50X_1-177.54. No significant difference can be seen between the ovariole numbers of left and right ovaries.
