In the practical use of electron beam welding, attempts have been made often to prevent weld defects and improve mechanical properties, making use of insert metals, but so far no report has been made on addition of alloy elements to weld metal, which is based on factors such as addition method and irradiation position of beam. Therefore, in this paper, authors have studied on the relation between these factors and additional condition. The result shows that thickness of insert metals and bead width are two important factors for the uniformity of addition of alloy elements.
