Spermatophore counts were proved to be a reliable measure for successful mating frequency in Pieris rapae crucivora females. The wild females were revealed to mate usually multiply in their life span. Ultimate number of matings was estimated at 2.84/female. The first and second mating of released females occurred at less than 1-day-old and at around 8-day-old, respectively. A brief discussion was presented on the possible role of multiple mating in the species.
