In current-mode signal processing, a companding integrator is useful from the viewpoint of linearity under a low power-supply voltage. While a conventional circuit uses MOSFET square law as an expanding function, this paper proposes a new companding circuit using higher-order V-1 conversions as expanding functions to achieve a higher compressing rate.
