Recently many people in Japan have become familiar with various musical instruments. Some play not only simple etude or solo parts of sonatas, but also the solo parts of concertos. Concerning the latter, however, such people have few opportunities to play the solo parts while being ac-companied by an orchestra. The concerto simulator described here provides such opportunities by using a video projector, a large rear screen and other equipment. This paper present the configuration of the simulator and the results of an evaluation by questionnaires completed by professional violinists after using it.
