A theoretical study was made on the following points concerning the design and analysis of the hydrostatic bearing ; (1) Optimum dimensions of the recess. (2) Correction of the load capacity and the quantity of flow for application to journal bearing. (3) Squeeze film effect in hydrostatic bearing with the recess and external restriction.
