Dose-related Effects of Single Focal Irradiation in the Medial Temporal Lobe Structures in Rats : Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Histological Study

ラット側頭葉内側部にガンマユニットを用い局所放射線照射を行い、その線量依存的効果をMRIにて経時的に観察した後組織学的検討を加えた。4mmコリメータ・200Gy照射群では照射2週後に全例に壊死巣が形成され、100Gy照射群では10週以内に、75Gy照射群では1年以内に照射野に一致した壊死巣を認めた。一方50Gy以下の線量では、1年後においても、視索周辺以外の照射野には壊死巣は認めなかった。側頭葉てんかんに対する放射線外科的治療を行う際、照射部位に壊死巣を安定して作成するには、本実験では4mmコリメータを用いた場合75Gyが至適線量と思われたが、一方、視索など脆弱な脳組織に対する慎重な線量計画が不可欠である。
