重複中大脳動脈分岐部に発生した破裂脳動脈瘤の1例を報告した。重複中大脳動脈には、しばしば脳動脈瘤が合併するが、その多くは、重複中大脳動脈の分岐部あるいは分岐部近傍の内頚動脈に発生している。また、動脈瘤を合併する重複中大脳動脈の23例中、右重複中大脳動脈14例では、そのうち7例がその分岐部に動脈瘤を有しているのに対し、左重複中大脳動脈9例ではわずかに2例にのみ分岐部動脈瘤を認めた。これらのことから、重複中大脳動脈分岐部動脈瘤の発生とこの異常血管に何らかの関連があり、しかも、その左右差については血行動態的な異常のみでは説明し難く、先天的要因がより関与している可能性があるものと考えられる。
