Spatial Coherence of Core Holes in Resonant X-Ray Emission for a Model of Diatomic Molecule with Dephasing

The effect of' 1ocaliz?rtion of core holes dtre to deph?tsing in the resonant x-ray ezauission spectruuuuis investigated theoretically by appl3'ing the stocla?'tstic theory to a siraxplified ?nodel of' diatornicnuolectrle. The x-ray etnission spectrurn fror'ta the occupied utaolecular orbitals is calculated underthe condition that tlae core electron is excited resonantly to one of t,lae trnocctrpied uaaolectrlarorbitals. It is foutad that, 21S the relax?ttion tiraae of' the relative phs'tse between flue atonaicwave f'trnctions of the core orbitals becottaes short as conapatred with the core hole lifetiuaae, theparity-broken lutniruescence gatins its intensity indicating tlae partial localizat,ion of the core hole.Althotrgh the dephasing in the outer orbitals also cotatribtrtes to the syuaanuetry bre?tking, itsinfltrence is relatively srnall due to the uaaotional narrowing effect.
