We have investigated the anisotropy of the spectra and the polarization degree of the B l.sezmission in hexagonal baron nitride using synchrotron radiation as a light source. Spectatoremussion appears when the B Is hole is ratdiatively filled with the valence electron while the coreexciton state being occupied. It has been found that ';r emission is absent or very xveak in thespectator emission, while both m and o cornponents are present in the normal emission, Thisresult has been explained in terms of the Coulornbic effect of the core hole on the localized B2p. valence orbital.
