Layered-Type Antiferromagnetic State in Double-Layered Manganites : (La_1-zconducting La_<1.85>Sr_<0.15>CuO_4

Anisotropic magnetic and transport properties have been investigated for single crystals oflayered-perovskite manganites (La) .Nd,)z 2.SI182.IVIIl2O7 as a function of thendoping level xand averaged ionic radius z of the rare-earth ton. The ferromagnetic metallic (FM) state observedin LB1.2SI1.8MIl2O7 (.r : 0.4; z : 0.0) disappears with increasing x or z, and the ground stateis replaced by a layered antiferrornagnetic (layered-AF) state beyond x x 0.5. Thus obtainedphase diagram is discussed in terms of variation of the e,-band strtncture with the band-filling( = l - r).
