The Structure and Order of Appearance of Oscillation Modes of the Oregonator to an External Periodic Force Acting on the Second Component

We investigate the response of the Oregonator by adding an external periodic forceA. cos (cta.r) to the second component. The order of appearancce of a n(m) band in themode diagram obtained by changing both the amplitude and frequency of the exter-nal force, becomes complex. But we found that the order of appearance of an exten-sion II'(m) band of mum) band is regular. We a.lso, investigated the order of ap-pearance of band for A.= - 10 and n(m, m -f l, m -l- 2) band for A.= - 11 by using apiecewise linear map approximating the strange attractor in the region of cta. from 4.8to 6.0. We find that the result of the piecewise linear map conc:erning the order of ap-pearance of bands, in limited regions of the control parameters A. and co. agreesqualitatively with that of the forced Oregonator. Furthermore, we investigated therelation between the multiplicity M and co. for bands which appear in the region from4.4 to 7.2 (A.= - 10).
