Statistical fluctuation in the transmission of light is numerically studied in the one-dimensional media with random components in dielectric tensors. The distribution ofeigenvalues concerning the logarithm of the product of the transfer matrix and its con-jugate transpose is studied in connection to the random-matrix theory. The repulsionof the eigenvalues is found to suppress strongly the fluctuation when birefringenceand optical activity are introduced into the system. The interference effects analogousto the Aharonov-Bohm effects are also considered on an interl'erometer using Berry'sphase. The transmission coefficient periodic in Berry's phase is studied on thestatistical distribution of the Fourier coefficients.
