EPR Spectra from Ni~<2+> Pairs in KZnF_3 Crystals

EPR was studied on KNi.Znz-,F. crystals, where concentration x is lessthan 0.1. Srectrum from sinsle Ni" ions was identified bv o=2.27, and wassuperposed by superhyperfine structure from surrounding F- nuclear spins onlyfor the most dilute specimen with ,v=0.39%. The other line at 8560 gauss ob-served with K-band microwave was attributed to isolated Ni" pairs, from thetemperature dependence of the intensity. Pair spectra were observed for dilutespecimens, and exchange integral Jz 83 cm ' was deduced from the temperaturedependence of the intensity. In addition, complex superhyperfine structure wasobserved, and its tentative interpretation was given.
