In this paper, we solve the nonlinear Schr6dinger equation of the form, iu.-f-4-*.,-[-?*?'*fe/(*)=0, by means of conservation laws. For e=0, the two solitonsolution is obtained and is compared with numerical solution. For e$O, weconsider plasma waves with linear and nonlinear Landau damping and obtainan approximate one soliton solution where the amplitude or velocity changesin time.
