概要

Interband optical conductivity of Rb between 1.0 and 10 eV is calculated. The energy values and the wave functions are determined by APW and the transition matrix elements are evaluated. The Wigner-Seitz potential is adopted with a slight modification. The strong peak in the optical conductivity observed above the plasma frequency is predicted by the present band theory.
