A Theory of Uniform Spin Susceptibility around the Antiferromagnetic Quantum Critical Point

The uniform spiza susceptibility X around the quantutn critical point is discussed on the basisof the mode-mode coupling theory of the antiferromagnetic (AF) spin fltrctttations. The teunperattrre dependence of X around the qtuanttrrn critical point reflects the znagnetic-field dependenceof the free energy dtre to that of the spin flttcttrations. The results are X c<: 1 - pat"' for theconventional class of AF flttcttrations with the dynarnical expotuent z : 2, and X (X 1 - f33t"'for a new class of AF fltrcttrations with z : 3, where t is the reduced temperature and p7 andf33 are ntrmerical corastants. For Ce7Ni3, the behavior of X around the qttantutn critical poizat ispossibly explaned by this theory with the conventional class of AF fluctuations with z : 2. Thelatter type of AF fltrctuations with z : 3 is possible when the system contains even number ofmagnetic ions in the trnit cell such as CeCtmct .Atr. (.r : 0.1), becatrse the AF ordering vectorcan coincide with one of tlae reciprocal lattice vectors.
