A Study on Z_3-Exciton's Damping in CuCI_<1-x>Br_x Solid Solutions

An a-dependent damping factor of Z,-exciton in Curl. ,Br, (.X'>0.012) has beenevaluated experimentally, using two-photon resonant Raman scattering (TRRS)based on two-photon excitation of excitonic molecules and linear reflection. Aremarkable difference between the shape of the observed reflection spectrum and thecorresponding spectrum calculated from the polariton dispersion curve, which was de-termined experimentally by TRRS for the same sample, has been found in the L-Tgap region of Z,-exciton of the sample of x= 1.2 x 10 '. The difference has beenanalyzed as the u-dependence of the damping factor of the exciton level.
