The behaviour of the transition of quartz in a range of 0.1 K immediately abovethe transition temperature (T0was studied mainly in the cooling run from theintermediate phase (IP) to the a phase. Rod-like entitles parallel to the c-axisare formed, the thickness being an order of 30-100 /ZITI. They cause an inhomo-geneous strain in the crystal. This texture (super-modulated structure) is intrinsicsince it exists more clearly when the IX phase does not coexist in the specimen. Itis transformed into the a phase at T(. It is suggested that the entity is a com-mensurate phase. In the final chapter, the structure of IP over the whole tem-perature range and the natures of transition from the p to the a phase throughIP are discussed based on our observations including those of Part I (J. Phys.Soc. Jpn. 54 (1985)1868).
