Electron spectra have been measured with 0.8 MeV/amu H", 'lie", Hf andH,f ion bombardments of thin foils (2 -20 pg/cm') at observation angles [5 -30'. Large peaks, with speeds v. close to the projectile speed v, have been ob-served even at these large angles for thinner foils with Hf and If. The molecularenhancement for the yield of v. -v. electrons per proton for Hf is always largerthan that for H" and the molecular enhancement for both H" and Hf decreases22with increase of foil thickness, disappearing at foil thicknesses 215 pg/cm'. Bycomparing data for molecular projectiles (llf, Hf) with data for atomic projectiles(H", 'He"), it is concluded that the molecular enhancement for the yield ofv. - v. electrons is consistent with the electron loss model.
