Monte Carlo simulations of three-state Potts models interacting with nearest-neighbor antiferromagnetic J. (<0) and next-nearest-neighbor ferromagneticJ. (>O) are carried out on a square lattice, At enough low temperatures an anti-ferromagnetic ordering is shown to appear except for /.=0. In the intermediatetemperatures the occurrence of the Kosterlitz-Thouless-like phase is indicatedfrom the estimation of the critical exponent t7.
