The baker's transformation is ergodic and has a constant invariant measure(density). This invariant density can not be achieved from an arbitrary initial density byinfinitely many-time applications of the transformation without introducing coarsegraining. This suggests that an appropriate coarse graining is necessary in derivingstatistical measure from dynamics, especially to be consistent with thermodynamics.
