Adding dissipative elements to a nonlinear transmission line equivalent to theToda lattice, we have studied the behavior of a soliton propagating in the dissipa-five system. The damping rate is found to be explained to large extetat by thetheory derived from the K-dV equation with a loss tertn, while its slight depend-ence on the initial amplitude of the solitoua is explained by the Ihcory of thedissipative Toda lattice given by Kako. For a relatively small conductanceparallel to the nonlinear capacitor, a somewhat distorted shape of the solitonfollowed by the long 'dip on tail' was observed, which is compared with thetheory given by Karpman and Maslov. The 'bump?on tail' behind the soliton, which is considered as one of the features of the dissipative Toda lattice, was alsoobserved only for the case of connecting a relatively large resistance in series toeach inductance.
