The electronic structure of Pd containing a substitutional impurity of a non-transition (Al and Si) or transitien element (Ti, V, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ta and W) iscalculated by using the KKR method. The results, when combined with anapproximate expression for the spin susceptibility which takes account of theexchange enhancement, lead to a semiquantitative agreement with the expert-mental spin susceptibility data of Pd-based alloys.
