Flute mode oscillations are excited in a single-ended Q-machine plasma byapplying three phase voltage to electron entissive grids (coated with Bad) heatedby the thermal radiation front the hot plate. Synchronous quenching is alsoobserved : A relation o'-f-a#'=const. is obtained between the amplitudes a and bof the spontaneous and excited flute modes (whose frequencies are./5 and f.),respectively. The factor a depends 011 the frequency discrepancy and the positionof observation: a =0.17 and 0,3 for (./5 -.f..)/.f. =O.28 and 0,13, respectively.
