A high power nticrowave of 9 GHz with pulse width of 2.9 psec is incident ona plasnta with the electron density of IQ" cm-' at a piessure of IQ ' Torr in anArgon gas. For the various powers of the incident nticrow'ave, the temporalreflection powers are nteasured at the electron densities close to the cut-off valueof the unicrowave. The reflection is found first to decrease and increase again withthe increased incident power. This is not expected from the linear theory for coldplasmas. These abnormal behaviors can be explained by the existing theories.
