A peak in the magnetic field derivative of the microwave surface impedance vs magnetic field has been observed in superconducting lead. It is clarified that this peak is associated with the excitation of the surface bound quasiparticles. The temperature dependence of the penetration depth obtained by the analysis of the peak fields has revealed that lead seems to be a weak coupling superconductor having the BCS energy gap 2Δ_0=3.53 kT_c; the gap value differs from the strong coupling value 2Δ_0=4.30 kT_c; which was found by the tunneling experiment, although the comparison of the observed penetration depth with the strong coupling theory is not possible at present.
