An analysis is made of unsteady viscous flow induced by the impulsive start of a finite flat plate, parallel to its length. The present paper is concerned with the final period in which the steady Blasius flow has been realized on the plate already. An asymptotic solution of the Navier-Stokes equations is constructed, with the Blasius solution as a leading term. A numerical discussion is made of the present solution for the final period and a solution previously obtained for the intermediate period, in the neighborhood of the leading edge.
