Ionic conductivities al of silver chalcogenides have beerL measured as functions of the temperature and the carrier concentration nl' It has been found that al is larger in bcc than in fcc by about 20 % at the phase transition fce--bcc, and aoila(eni) is several times larger than the mean mobility adeni. The latter is discussed in terms of the caterpillar mechanism.
