A good example of a cascade shower in nuclear emulsions was analysed, and its energy was determined from its lateral distribution at successive stages of its development comparing with cascade theory, and was found to be 2.5 × 10^<11>eV. It is possible to measure the energy of high energy γ-rays or electrons with an accuracy of a factor two.
